Purpose
Why TEREC exists
TEREC exists to strengthen independent dental laboratories through disciplined collaboration, shared intelligence, and accountable execution.
Members operate complex businesses, and TEREC is nobody's primary job. It runs alongside the daily work of leading laboratories and the teams inside them — which is precisely why it has to be structured rather than casual.
Candid exchange is a condition of membership, and a standing confidentiality agreement protects what is said in the room. That is what makes real numbers, real constraints and real failures discussable.

History
A History of Collaboration and Innovation
Founded in 1984, TEREC North America was created around a simple but powerful idea: independent dental laboratories could accomplish more by sharing knowledge, experience, and innovation than by working alone.
From its earliest days, TEREC brought together leading regional dental laboratories across North America to identify, evaluate, and develop emerging technologies, materials, processes, and techniques. Members openly shared technical, management, financial, marketing, and production knowledge while working together to understand where the dental laboratory industry was headed.
Over more than four decades, that commitment to collaboration has remained at the heart of TEREC. As dentistry has evolved from traditional laboratory techniques to CAD/CAM, digital scanning, milling, 3D printing, advanced materials, and increasingly sophisticated digital workflows, TEREC members have continued to learn from one another and evaluate new technologies together.
TEREC has also built strong relationships with leading manufacturers and technology companies, giving members the opportunity to see, test, and critically evaluate emerging solutions before bringing them into their laboratories and to the dentists they serve.
Today, TEREC represents a network of independent dental laboratories that believe collaboration makes each member stronger. The group combines the collective knowledge and experience of its members with the independence, personal relationships, and local service that define the regional dental laboratory.
For more than 40 years, the goal has remained the same: learn together, innovate together, and help one another build better dental laboratories.
